I am a London-based artist fascinated with contemporary portraiture and the female gaze. Interested in representation, I use a distinctive and unique visual language to examine the ways we look at women. My paintings explore vulnerability and beauty, whilst challenging idealised, sexualised and media driven images of women.

With an experimental and playful approach to mark-making, I rarely use a paintbrush and instead uses tools which allow me to blur the boundaries between representation and abstraction. My large-scale portraits are created using jars and jugs, pouring diluted paint on to a flat surface in a series of complex and translucent layers. In this way the process is highly spontaneous and unpredictable – the tension of the controlled and uncontrolled underpinning every work.

I graduated from a Fine Art degree in 2008 and have since exhibited across the UK, Europe, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
